Paige: Seven Months

Seven months with this little squish! I hate that she is growing up so fast but I love seeing her personality more and more.
Paige started wearing 6-12 month clothes and she is in size 3 diapers. She is our big little girl. I love all her rolls and squishiness. Hayley and Evelyn were both on the little side so it has been fun to have a chunky babe too. At her check-up last month, the Doctor picked her up and handed her to me after examining her and said my back must hurt after carrying her around all day. Haha I do get tired holding her sometimes but I don't do it all day long.
Paige is a pro at rolling from her stomach to her back but cannot figure out how to get back to her back. If she gets tired she just puts her head down. I have caught her sleeping on her stomach a couple times now too. She can also sit up on her own now. She has gotten very touchy and grabby the past few weeks.
She has started to enjoy food a little more. It has been a rough start, she didn't seem to be very interested, but it has gotten better. She still doesn't eat very much when I do feed her but she at least will open up for it now. If I don't feed her food she usually needs to nurse in the middle of the night. I think food helps her stomach stay full longer. Other than that she is sleeping for 8-10 hours every night. Her naps have been sporadic and sometimes they are long and other times not so much. Since she doesn't sleep through things as well anymore we may have to have her take naps other than the same room that Dan studies in. She doesn't really use her binky for its intended purpose. I put it in and she just takes it out, sticks her two fingers in, and holds it. It's almost more of a little comfort object for her.
Whenever we pick her up, she sticks her arms in the air and it makes it hard to grab her. No idea why she does it, but she has for a couple months now and we wish she wouldn't cause it almost feels like we are gonna drop her one of these times cause she's just gonna slide right on through. Little girl needs to keep her arms down.
She loves bath time and splashing in the water. I finally put her in the swimming pool this past week and she loved it too. We let the water heat up during the girls' nap time and it was warm enough for her to get in. She looked adorable in her swimsuit.
Her hair is getting longer but still not very thick, it is pretty whispy. I thought it might start lightening up but it has stayed light brown. Her eyes seem to change colors. Sometimes they look gray or light blue and other times hazel.
Paige is always happy to see anyone. She lights up and always smiles or giggles. She has started making the fun pterodactyl sound when she gets excited. She also does this kind of tremble movement when she is excited too. It's so cute. She likes playing peek a boo, especially with her feet.
Third one to wear this hat.
Getting some Grandma loves.
She loves bath time.
She could not get enough of this popsicle.
Babies in beanies are the best!
We cannot get enough of this adorable little girl! So grateful she is part of our family. She gives me calm moments that I so desperately need.

Evelyn: Three Years

I feel like the last few weeks I have seen Evelyn go from a toddler to a kid right before my eyes. She is still a tiny little girl but she is growing up!

Evelyn is still my wild child, and I mean that in an endearing way. She is a free spirit. I hope she can always hold her own and be who she wants to be. She is her own little person and I try to embrace it. She has earned the nickname sour patch kid because she can be sour and then sweet all within two seconds.
Evelyn still needs to be watched constantly! Which is so hard with a baby. I often wonder what kind of disasters I am going to find while I'm trying to shower or feed Paige or whatever. She is a curious little girl. I wonder why she thinks doing some of the things she does is a good idea or even where she gets some of her ideas. Sometimes I can laugh it off and other times I have to work on letting things go.
Evelyn is the most accident prone kid. She seems to constantly have bruises and hits her head probably at least twice a day. She is oblivious to her surroundings and runs into stuff or trips over things all day long. Thankfully nothing too serious has happened. She did have one fall that had me worried for a little bit but she ended up being good.
Evelyn has thee sweetest little voice. We often get told how cute it is and that people like to listen to her, even if they can't always understand her. She can also be very vocal and likes to randomly yell occasionally. She doesn't always like to use words to express herself and that is something that we are working on. She is a funny, entertaining, little girl and makes us laugh a lot.
Evelyn is still a pretty good eater. She definitely varies on how much she eats from meal to meal but she mostly finishes her food and she isn't too picky. She absolutely loves cheese (we call her a little mouse sometimes), yogurt, and any sort of treat.
Evelyn has become a big movie lover. She loves watching "shows." She was on a big Moana kick for a few months and has now changed to Ariel, Frozen (since the second one came out), and most recently Hercules for movies. Her go-to series are "Bubble Guppies" and "Micky Mouse Clubhouse."
Evelyn is now going through the phase of not sleeping in her bed. She often comes into our room and sleeps on the floor. I have found her on her floor, in their tee pee, and even out on couch in the mornings. I hope she goes through this quicker than Hayley did.
Evelyn started officially potty training this year. She was interested in it last summer while we were in Utah and I so wish I would have just done it then because it has become a huge battle/struggle. We went back and forth between panties and pull-ups for a couple weeks and then just did pull-ups at night and for the past couple months she has been in panties full-time. She still pees a tiny bit in her panties often (never full-on accidents, thankfully) and we are still working on getting her tell us when she needs to go instead of just taking her every few hours. I don't know what the magic solution to get her to do that, I have tried several different things. I am just praying something clicks soon because I am tired of washing so many panties.
Evelyn loves playing with Barbies and princesses. She likes to paint more than draw. She enjoys being outside - playing at the park and with water balloons. She loves playing dress up and can often be found in Hayley's clothes, sometimes in the middle of the night when she is supposed to be sleeping.
Evelyn and Hayley get along pretty well for the most part. She does love to smother her little sister. She had a little bit of a hard time when Paige was born but she didn't resent her. She is good at playing with them but also likes to play by herself and be independent sometimes. I do feel like she gets neglected a little bit being the middle child.
Evelyn still takes a nap every day, and it usually for about two hours. She gets pretty cranky without it. She has to have her "yellow" (yellow popsicle blanket) and used to want her monkey too but doesn't always want it now.
Evelyn loves to play in cars.

Telling the prairie dog to come see her.
Watching Daddy's White Coat Ceremony.
She threw my freshly folded laundry in the bath tub.
Huge goose egg.
She would occasionally fall asleep on the way to get Hayley from preschool.
Found her like this one morning.
She loved using my belly as a pillow.
Dan got her these adorable pink cowgirl boots that she loves.
Both girls have a fascination with bodies, thanks to their Dad.
First haircut.
Hayley taking care of Eve's bleeding foot.
She had climbed up the cupboards somehow and got stuck on her way down.
Why Evelyn? Just why?
She loved playing with the puppy that wandered into our yard one morning until its owners were home and we took it back.
Poor thing had a little stomach bug for a few days.
She loves Grandma's rocking horse.
Rocking Monique to sleep for a nap.
She will figure out how to get cookies.
Taking her turn being King Benjamin for our church lesson.
Her bubble wrap dress.

Evelyn really likes Mermaids so that was the theme for her birthday. We are so lucky that Grandma and Grandpa could drive down and visit us over her birthday. We had a great day celebrating. She played with her new Elsa doll, played outside with her new trike, got Chuy's for dinner, and ended the night watching Trolls World Tour.
Birthday card from Great Grandma Harris.
Elsa doll with outfits.
Trike from Aunt Nikkole and Uncle Mike.
The girls are loving all the balloons from the Mermaid tail.
Evelyn stuck the balloon up her shirt and said, "It's my baby."
Couldn't pass up Mexican food on Cinco de Mayo.
I made her Cookies N Cream Ariel cake.
I love this little girl so much and I am so grateful she is part of our family!
